For these reasons, the Government of the People's Republic of Serbia, on the basis of Art. 79th adopted the Regulation on the Establishment of Dental Medicine, University of Belgrade. The act was signed by Prime Minister Dr NRS Blagoje Nešković Minister and Minister of NRS chairman of the Committee for scientific institutions, universities and colleges NRS Milka Minic.

For implementation of this act is determined by the Commission composed of the President Dr Aleksandar Đorđević, Professor of Medicine in Belgrade, PhD Xenophon Sakovic, rector of a large medical school in Belgrade and Ljubomir Djokovic, Professor, School of Medicine and Director Dental Surgery Hospital Medical School.

The head of the newly established Faculty was Dr. Aleksandar Đorđević, professor, School of Medicine. With a feeling of gratitude to point out that in organizing and teaching the dental students after its founding and long after that, many teachers have contributed Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Belgrade.

At first faculty was confronted with many difficulties: the creation of the material base, selection and formation of teachers, determining the character of a dentist potebnog our community, improving the organization of work, curriculum, development of scientific-research work and the creation of graduate doctors with solid dental education .

School of Dentistry during the 1949th managed by the newly elected professor Dr. Ali Aloysius Kuralt, then demobilized People's Liberation Army major hospital, Dr. Ivan Bikar, as Dean of the Faculty, or vice-deans are elected, what is more difficult work. The Faculty initially existed three commissions:

·         Commission for the construction of the Faculty,

·         Commission for regular classes,

·         Commission on student applications and appeals.

Academic 1948/49. year Dental School began with 225 students as follows:

·         in the first year enrolled 138 students;

·         in the second year enrolled 46 students;

·         in the third year of enrolling 31 students.

Students enrolled in second and third year are moved from the Medical Faculty in Belgrade passed exams from previous years of study.

Start the first school year the School of Dentistry found almost no room for the performance of practical training in clinical dental subjects. Faculty possessed only the rooms of the former Dental surgery Hospital Medical School, and two rooms in the building of the Internal Clinic B, Medical School for research,. From the faculty five teachers and two assistants performed all of their instruction in dental cases, while for October 1948/49. Dental School had another 13 part-time teachers and 7 assistants from the Medical, Veterinary and Pharmaceutical University. This means that the operation and development of the Faculty were enabled thanks to the wholehearted support they gave him these faculties in the teaching staff, their institutes and clinics, as well as outsourcing of parts of the rooms and an amphitheater, where they themselves oskudevali, not counting the material and moral support they provide.

Teaching of dental subjects began to take place at the beginning of winter semester and the first school year, the first of Preclinical Prosthetics, both theoretical and practical. It involved: a dream. Col. Dr. Miroslav Subin, a dream. Major Dr. Vojin Petrovic (both with Military academies), Dr Peter Vukovojac etc Port Hope. Parallel and teaching takes place in dento-surgery you perform: Assist Ljubomir Djokovic, ass.dr Radomir Djordjevic, Dr Slavka Atanacković Dr Milica Vojteh, Dr Branko Katurić etc Port Hope. Classes from other dental items and the first school year was started.

In 1950. elected the first dean Assist Ljubomir Djokovic, a vice dean for Dr. Lazar Petrovic. At the end of summer semesters, 1949/50 school. he joined the opening of the clinic for dental courses. The decision for the names of dental clinics at the proposal of the Faculty Council passed the Council for Education and Culture Republic of Serbia.

·         Clinic Pathology and Therapy of teeth - 6th April 1950th

·         Clinic dental surgery  for Operation hall of the former Dental surgery Clinic Medical School. Opens Department of lying sick at the clinic, and departments for triage and tooth extraction work in the new premises from 19 May 1950th year. Then he opens the Department of reparative surgery with a suitable laboratory.

·         University Department of Pathology and treatment of mouth, from 28 to April 1950th year and moved to new premises 19th May 1950th year.

·         Clinic for Prosthodontics starts operating in new areas: preclinical prosthodontics 13th March 1950th The Prosthetics and Clinical 20th June 1950th year.

·         Clinic for Orthodontics of 1 June 1950th year.

·         Clinic for Pediatric and Preventive dentistry begins with the work of third January 1951st year.

At the clinic of Prosthodontics, and Orthodontics Dental surgery there are laboratories with the appropriate number of dental technicians. Also, there is a central clinical laboratory for biochemical, hematological, bacteriological and pathological tests, as well as photographic.

Maja 1950th The Central Library was established in the School of Dental Medicine. In addition to books dental surgery former clinic which is uploaded Medicine Faculty of Dentistry, in the first bookish fond entered the library and the books of Professor Dr Athanasius Apulia, which was a valuable basis for the development of the newly established Faculty library (about 900 books and 30 journal titles). Over the years, the constant supply of books and magazines (about 200 a year the latest editions of domestic and foreign literature), as well as our personal gifts and foreign scholars, a large number of books given by: University of Belgrade, the Serbian Academy of Science, British Council, the American reading room, WHO, FDI, etc. Created on 7 handy library of dental clinics and 4 institute. Also, the library has subscribed to numerous foreign periodicals countries in Europe, America and Australia (now has 8000 books and 35 journal titles that are used by generations of students, teachers, doctors,postgraduates).
