Currency

Money is nice to have, and you will need it also in Macedonia, because nothing is for free. Nothing? The hospitality of the Macedonians is for free and their hospitality is huge! But, here you will find more about the Macedonian monetary system, because on hospitality alone you can not live.

It is very easy to get money in Macedonia, because you can go just to the cash machine (ATM), most accept foreign cards. The official currency of Macedonia is the Macedonian Denar, or MKD.

The actual (31th May 2010) exchange rate is:
1 Euro= 60,92 MKD
1 USD= 49,65 MKD
1 GBP= 71,65 MKD

1 MKD= 0,02 Euro
1 MKD= 0,02 USD
1 MKD= 0,01 GBP

Note that the Macedonian Denar is quite stable last years.
